Jeremiah Brown, 22, was shot and killed on the evening of August 20, 2024, in Sayreville, New Jersey. Police responded to gunfire on Swider Drive around 9:49 p.m. and found Brown suffering from a fatal gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead in the parking lot of an apartment building.

Investigators from the Sayreville Police Department and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined the shooting involved someone known to Brown. Within a week the probe focused on 18-year-old Daniel Adediran of Sayreville. On August 28, 2024, Adediran was arrested without incident and charged with first-degree murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was taken to the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending a pre-trial detention hearing.

Anyone with information or surveillance footage related to the shooting is asked to come forward.
