On the morning of June 4, 2023, Brock Hogans, 29, was found outside his North Street residence in Bridgeton, New Jersey with a single gunshot wound to his torso. Emergency responders transported him to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he died about an hour after the shooting.
As he awaited medical evacuation, Hogans identified his alleged assailant to responding officers as William Ware. The next day authorities arrested William O. Ware IV, 25, of Rosenhayn in Cumberland County and charged him with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Police said Hogans and Ware were acquainted; the nature of that acquaintance has not been disclosed.
The investigation into the circumstances of the shooting is ongoing. If anyone saw activity around North Street that night or has information about Hogans and Ware’s acquaintance, please share what you know.
