On the evening of August 1, 2024, 18-year-old Andrew Townley was shot and killed near the 500 block of Hill Drive in the small community of Robertsville, Missouri. Deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office report the incident occurred about 8:57 p.m. A man told investigators he was attacked by two individuals and, during a struggle, produced a firearm from his pocket and fired, striking Townley. The shooter then walked to a nearby home seeking help; the resident called emergency services after finding a man covered in blood on the porch.

Deputies found Andrew grievously wounded and attempts at CPR failed; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Born July 16, 2006, in Houston, Missouri, he was remembered as an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and time with family and friends. A visitation was held August 9, 2024, followed by a graveside service.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate; no arrests have been announced and no suspects publicly named. If anyone saw activity near Hill Drive that evening or has information about the altercation, please contact the Sheriff’s Office.
