Lacey Nicole Nix, 32, was shot and killed at about 8:16 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2023, at a residence in Springfield, Missouri. Officers who responded to a report of a person having been shot found Nix on the ground with a gunshot wound; emergency medical personnel performed life-saving measures but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Springfield Police investigated the homicide and identified a person of interest who was questioned. The case was presented to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office and charges were filed against 25-year-old Brandon Huddleston. He is charged with second-degree murder and also faces felony stealing, second-degree burglary, delivery of a controlled substance, and third-degree domestic assault; he is being held at the Greene County Jail without bond. The prosecutor’s office has noted these are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
