On April 25, 2023, Isaiah Craig Fitzgerald, an 18-year-old African American male from Sikeston, Missouri, was fatally shot after a dispute that began on social media. The confrontation reportedly started when Fitzgerald reacted with a laughing emoji to a Facebook photo of Tanner Watkins and a female companion, leading to heated messages and an agreement to meet in person at Rotary Park to settle the matter.

When those involved arrived at the park the planned altercation turned violent and gunfire was exchanged. Fitzgerald was struck and taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. An 18-year-old female was also shot and sustained serious injuries that required hospitalization and surgery.

Authorities arrested two men in connection with the shooting: 20-year-old Tanner Watkins and 18-year-old Kaleb Ramsey, each facing charges including first-degree murder, assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon.

If anyone has information about the events at Rotary Park that day or knew Isaiah, please share what can help investigators.
