On Sunday morning, March 5, 2023, deputies in Laclede County, Missouri, responded to a 911 call at a home in the 23000 block of Park Drive in Lebanon and found 25-year-old Ryan Michael Holloway dead in the front yard from a gunshot wound. Witnesses and Holloway’s fiancée told investigators the shooting followed an altercation that began when an acquaintance, identified as Jimmy Ray Bruce Sanders, pulled into the driveway, exited his vehicle with a gun, and engaged in a verbal and then physical struggle with Holloway. Holloway reportedly picked up a chain during the fight and was shot; his fiancée tried to render aid but Holloway died at the scene.

Sanders, 26 and a Lebanon resident, was arrested soon afterward at a different location on Pleasant Drive and was being held without bond on an unrelated third-degree domestic assault charge connected to a different victim who is related to Holloway. As investigators and prosecutors reviewed the evidence in the shooting, no murder charge had been filed for Holloway’s death in the initial reports, with officials noting the legal questions raised by the physical struggle and the presence of weapons on both sides.

Holloway’s family described him as a devoted father and fiancé who enjoyed being outdoors, hunting arrowheads, listening to old country music, and working on cars with his father. Does anyone have information about the events that led to the March 5 confrontation or about the people involved?
