On the late afternoon of August 26, 2024, gunfire erupted at Doyle Park on Ashburton Avenue in Yonkers. Police responded to multiple 911 calls around 5 p.m. and found two men who had been shot. One of those men, 29-year-old Daquan Drizzy Woo Glenn, was pronounced dead at a hospital; the other victim was treated and listed in stable condition.
Daquan Glenn, born January 17, 1995, was remembered by family and friends as caring and humorous, with a noted affection for children. His parents, Gwendelyn Little and Michechum Glenn, were left to grieve. Investigators described the shooting as a targeted attack but have not released a motive. A heavy police response, including Westchester County units and a helicopter, searched the park; no arrests or public identifications of suspects have been made.
