Curtis A. Hall, 32, of Savannah, was shot and killed on January 20, 2011. He was found with gunshot wounds between New Castle and Comer streets in West Savannah. Early notices described his death in obituary language, and later reporting drew out a more violent picture: police told Hall’s family there had been an altercation and that he was running away when he was killed.
Hall was a father of five daughters. His mother, Janice Hall, spoke publicly about the pain of losing her son and the absence his death left in the family. Reporting noted that no suspect was named, no arrest was described, and no one had been charged or convicted in connection with the killing; coverage as of 2022 described the murder as unsolved.
If anyone knew Curtis, his movements that day, or has information about the altercation near New Castle and Comer streets, please come forward to investigators.
