Travis Lee, 35, was found dead from a gunshot wound at a home on East Simmons Avenue in Williamston, North Carolina, after officers responded to a reported shooting on November 12, 2024 at about 5:15 a.m. Investigators say Lee had been involved in a physical altercation with his ex-girlfriend, Olivia Lea Stokes, 34, prior to the shooting.

Stokes turned herself in on November 15, 2024 and was charged with an open count of murder; she was held without bond and had an initial court appearance scheduled for November 18, 2024. Funeral services for Lee were held November 23, 2024 at Power House Ministries Church in Lewiston-Woodville, with burial at Weeping Mary Baptist Church Cemetery, and his sister Amy Lee organized a GoFundMe titled Honoring Travis Lee: Funeral Fund to assist with expenses.

The Williamston Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances of Lee’s death. If anyone knew Travis or has information about the shooting, please come forward.
