On the evening of Sunday, December 27, 2009, 25-year-old Brandon Tyree McCullough was fatally shot outside his apartment at the Oaks of Brandlewood in Savannah, Georgia. He suffered a single, close-range gunshot wound to the head from a .38 caliber weapon and was found slumped against a wall with a lit cigarette; he was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Witnesses reported hearing one gunshot and seeing a dark-skinned Black male with dreadlocks run from the scene in an older two-toned white and pale yellow Ford F-150. Two female bystanders who were present reportedly did not cooperate with investigators. Police also learned McCullough may have been in an altercation about a week earlier with roughly five individuals at Yamaha Craw Village, but the investigation produced no arrests and eventually went cold.

No one has been charged in Brandon McCullough’s killing. Anybody with information, however small, is asked to contact the authorities.
