On April 26, 2024, 43-year-old Jermaine Jamaal Brown of Dunn, North Carolina, was killed by gunfire. Specific circumstances of the shooting have not been released.

Jermaine was a son, father, and fiancé. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Scott; his son, Jermaine Brown Jr.; daughters Aniya Morris, Brianna Thompson, Jamiyah Stringfield, and Nadia McLaurin; five grandchildren; his fiancé, Grace McLean; and an extended network of siblings, uncles, and other relatives. The family received visitors at Barbara Scott’s home in Angier in the days after his death, and funeral services took place May 4, 2024, at The Love Center in Dunn.

No arrests or suspects have been publicly reported and the investigation remains active. If anyone has information that could help authorities, please contact local law enforcement.
