On April 15, 2024, at about 9:30 p.m., 24-year-old Ty’Quel Martez Alston was shot at close range during an altercation in the yard of a residence on the 1800 block of Julia Avenue in Henderson, North Carolina. Alston, a Daffodil Drive resident, was taken to Maria Parham Health in Henderson where he later died from his injuries.

The Henderson Police Department identified 28-year-old Antarious Tebron Harrington of Barclay Lane as the suspect and an arrest warrant was issued charging him with murder. At the time of the shooting, Harrington was out on pre-trial release for felony drug charges. As of December 24, 2024, there have been no public reports confirming his arrest and the case remains open.
