Brandon Giles, 37, was fatally shot outside his home at 709 North Ellis Avenue in Dunn, North Carolina, on January 28, 2024, around 2 p.m. He was found in his driveway with gunshot wounds and taken to WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, where he died later that afternoon. Giles was a father of two and was expecting a third child with his girlfriend.

Police say an altercation the day before the shooting involved Giles and a man, and investigators identified 32-year-old Cornelius Leonard Webb as the primary suspect, accusing him of firing the shots and fleeing. Authorities allege Webb was driven to Giles’ residence in a red 2007 Volvo S40 by 36-year-old Thad Tiee Adams; both men were charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. A 30-year-old Kerrie Leigh Norris was also implicated, with specific charges not immediately listed.

A coordinated arrest effort by Dunn Police, the NC State Bureau of Investigation Criminal Apprehension Team, and the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrests: Adams and Norris were taken into custody near Beulaville on February 2, 2024, and Webb was captured shortly after; all were arrested without incident. Giles’ family described him as loving and devoted, and the community remembered his infectious smile and heart of gold. If anyone has information about the events leading up to the shooting or knew Brandon, please come forward.
