Darius Salik Jordan, 32, was shot on Raleigh Street in Oxford, North Carolina, on October 20, 2023 at about 1:30 p.m. He died the next day at Duke Medical Center. Authorities quickly identified and arrested suspects: 18-year-old Damerion Green was charged with first-degree murder, and 19-year-old Kyshaun Green was charged with assisting Damerion in fleeing the scene.

Investigators are examining possible links between Jordan’s killing and a separate shooting later that same day in Oxford that left 44-year-old Malinda Anderson dead and a 20-year-old man with life-threatening injuries; the county sheriff suggested the incidents might be retaliatory but the exact connection is under investigation. Jordan is survived by three daughters — Harmony Jordan, Ideyssey Jordan, and Alaia Rodwell — his parents Darrin Jordan and Angela Harris, siblings and grandmothers.

If anyone has information that could help the ongoing investigation, please come forward.
