Jerry Joe Minard, 24, was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting on December 23, 2017, in Chicago’s Chicago Lawn neighborhood. He was pronounced dead at the scene; a woman was also wounded in the same incident. The shooting occurred while Minard was near his home and no suspects were immediately taken into custody.

The slaying happened during a weekend of increased violence in the city and came near the end of a year when Chicago’s homicide rate remained among the nation’s highest, with particular struggles on the South and West Sides. Friends and family remembered Minard as a loved member of the community whose passing left a significant void.

If anyone knew Jerry, saw the drive-by, or has information about the shooting, please share what is known with investigators.
