On the evening of September 19, 2024, 36-year-old Timothy J. Bollman, a maintenance employee at Ellwood City Forge in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, was shot multiple times and found dead inside the manufacturing facility. Responding officers from the Ellwood City Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police located several spent 9mm shell casings near his body.
Authorities identified 31-year-old former forge employee Timothy Woods as the suspect. A witness saw Woods come from the woods behind the plant and, after being told he could not be on the property, walk inside while saying he was looking for Bollman. The witness then heard multiple gunshots. Surveillance later captured Woods running past the guard station and fleeing the area. Woods reportedly called a woman, confessed to the killing, and threatened self-harm. He was tracked to a North Sewickley Township residence, surrendered to police, and a 9mm pistol consistent with the scene evidence was recovered; investigators say the firearm had been purchased the same day and that Woods held an expired concealed carry permit. Woods was arrested and lodged in the Lawrence County Jail pending arraignment; the motive remains under investigation.
Bollman, from Fombell, is survived by his wife, Hayley, and two children. He was remembered as a devoted family man, a motorcycle and car enthusiast who liked the Outer Banks and his mother’s cooking. If anyone has information about the shooting or knew Bollman, please come forward to assist the investigation.
