Keneri Montoya Santos, 24, was shot and killed while defending his sister from her ex-boyfriend during an early morning break-in in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. The confrontation moved to the basement, where a physical struggle occurred and Montoya Santos was struck once in the head by a handgun wound.

Montoya Santos was taken to Pennsylvania Presbyterian Medical Center and kept on life support for several days so his organs could be donated. Menjivar, who also uses the name Yieco Menjivar Pacheco, fled in a blue Honda Civic and is wanted on warrants charging first- and third-degree murder, burglary and gun offenses; authorities describe him as armed and dangerous. Family and police describe Montoya Santos as a hero whose actions likely saved his sister from serious harm.
