Trinity Lei Bostic was 17 and a senior at Macon County High School when she was reported missing from Macon County on June 29, 2024. Friends and family described her as intelligent, kind-hearted, hardworking, and excited about graduating; she worked at Walmart and enjoyed music, fashion, and working on cars with her father.

Her remains were found July 3, 2024, in a wooded area along a roadway in Hendersonville by a Tennessee Department of Transportation subcontractor picking up trash, roughly an hour from where she was last seen. An autopsy determined she died from a gunshot wound to the face and her death was ruled a homicide.

Investigators identified 17-year-old classmate Fernando Perales Mejia of Westmoreland as a suspect after cellphone records showed he was the last person to contact Trinity and their phones traveled similar routes on June 29; location data placed both near where her body was found. Searches allegedly turned up a loaded 9mm magazine, a bag containing some of Trinity’s personal items, and a 9mm handgun recovered from his vehicle. He was charged with first-degree murder.

Does anyone have information about Trinity’s last known movements on June 29 or about her circle of friends at Macon County High School?
