Israel Teniente Escaramuza was fatally shot on the evening of August 8, 2023, in a breezeway at the Falcon View Apartments on East Palestine Avenue in Madison, Tennessee. He was found with a gunshot wound and taken to Skyline Medical Center, where he died. Israel had turned 17 the day before his death; he was born in Villagran, Guanajuato, on August 7, 2006, and lived in Madison, about three miles from the apartment complex. His family remembered him as a beloved son, brother and friend who liked singing, dancing and making people laugh.

Metro Nashville Police Department homicide detectives later identified a suspect and an alleged facilitator. On October 17, 2023, officers arrested 18-year-old Arleth Bonilla and charged her with facilitation of criminal homicide, alleging she lured Israel to the complex. On November 1, 2023, detectives charged 17-year-old Adinson Enrique Serrano-Juarez with Israel Teniente’s murder, naming him as the person who shot him in the breezeway.

If anyone has information about Israel, his movements that evening, or the people involved, please come forward.
