Dantrel M. Morgan was 24 when he was fatally shot in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood on September 14, 2017. Officers responding to reports of gunfire around 2 a.m. found Morgan with gunshot wounds on a sidewalk in the 7100 block of South Carpenter Street; he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterward.
His death is recorded as one of many shootings that year in Chicago, occurring amid broader, persistent problems with gun violence in neighborhoods with a history of such incidents.
If anyone who lived in Englewood or was near South Carpenter Street that morning has information that could help, please share what is known.
