Domingo Dominic Carrillo, 16, was fatally shot on September 13, 2024, in the front yard of a home on the 1100 block of Oak Street in Red Bluff, California. Emergency responders arrived but Carrillo died at the scene. The Red Bluff Police Department and the Tehama County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigations determined the shooting was targeted and believed to be gang-related.

Investigators identified three suspects: 17-year-old Blake Michael Bush, alleged to be the shooter; 19-year-old Nathan Olney Reep; and 15-year-old Ryan Scott Piper. Arrest warrants were issued for all three. Bush and Reep were arrested in Trinity County on September 21, 2024; Piper was arrested on September 24, 2024. The district attorney sought to prosecute Bush as an adult; Reep was charged with first-degree murder and pleaded not guilty in court. Piper remained in the juvenile system because state law barred transfer to adult court.

The killing has prompted local concern about gang-related violence and youth involvement. Anyone with information about Domingo or this case is asked to come forward.
