Luis Rosales Ramos, 55, was found dead inside his North Hollywood apartment on August 5, 2024, after LAPD officers responded about 9:30 p.m. to reports of gunfire in the 5600 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Burbank Boulevard. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified him as born December 1, 1968, and ruled the manner of death a homicide from a gunshot wound to the head.

A GoFundMe set up afterward described Luis as outgoing and charismatic, beloved by neighbors and family, and noted he is survived by his brothers and his pets. The Los Angeles Police Department Valley Bureau Homicide Division is handling the investigation and asks anyone with information to contact them or submit anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers.
