On July 10, 2024, five members of one family were killed in a house on Kitty Hawk Road in Alameda, California. Victims named are 36-year-old Brenda Natali Morales; her parents, 70-year-old Miguel Carcamo and 56-year-old Marta Morales-Diaz; and Brenda’s two sons, 6-year-old William and 1-year-old Wesley. Miguel, despite suffering fatal injuries, reached a neighbor’s home and identified his son-in-law, 54-year-old Shane Killian, as the person responsible. Miguel later provided additional information to police outside the home before dying.

Officers found the other victims inside the residence and arrested Shane Killian at the scene without incident. Charges filed as of the arraignment date include five counts of murder, attempted murder, corporal injury to a partner, elder or dependent adult abuse, possession of an assault weapon, and possession of an unconventional pistol; Killian was held without bail and scheduled to enter a plea on July 22, 2024. Authorities have not released a motive. A GoFundMe was created to help with funeral costs and returning the victims to El Salvador. Anyone with information is asked to come forward. Would anyone with knowledge of the family or the area contact investigators?
