DeAndre Grinner, 38, was killed on July 10, 2024, inside a home on 16th Street in Clearlake, California, when a single shotgun blast struck him. Authorities treated the incident as a domestic homicide from the start. A woman at the residence, Dominique Irene Molina-Dominguez, called to report the shooting, admitted to officers she was the shooter, and was arrested and booked that same day on a murder charge.
Prosecutors alleged the killing was planned rather than spontaneous, saying Molina-Dominguez lay in wait for Grinner. At a later preliminary hearing prosecutors presented testimony that Grinner had been speaking or texting another woman that morning and that an argument ensued. Molina-Dominguez told officers she had been struck with a broom and described herself as a victim of domestic violence, a claim her defense relied on while she pleaded not guilty. A judge ordered her to stand trial and she remained in custody as the case moved forward.
Does anyone have information about Grinner’s life in Clearlake or the 16th Street residence that could shed light on what happened that morning?
