In the early hours of May 26, 2024, around 3:00 a.m., police responded to multiple gunshots in the parking lot of a gas station in the 3400 block of North Tracy Boulevard. Officers found two male victims with gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel pronounced 23-year-old Alexander Gabriel Aguon of Stockton dead at the scene; a second victim was taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition. The Tracy Police Department’s General Investigations Unit handled the scene and closed nearby roads during the day.

In October 2024 investigators released surveillance images of four suspects believed to be involved, described as from Stockton; one was noted as an Asian male dressed in black with a tattoo above his right eye. As of December 2024 no arrests have been made and the suspects remain unidentified. Alexander’s family launched a GoFundMe for funeral costs, describing him as the eldest of eight brothers, a former Stockton Colts Hockey player who loved music and designer fashion and who his mother said had a heart of gold. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Brian Azevedo or Sergeant Kenneth Steele with the Tracy Police Department.
