On May 13, 2024, at about 9:45 a.m., officers from the Chino Police Department responded to a shooting at an apartment complex in the 5700 block of Riverside Drive in Chino, California. Investigators found 34-year-old Timothy Matthews with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the shooting followed a family dispute between Matthews and his 18-year-old stepson, Jakari Curry. Curry was arrested at the scene and charged in connection with Matthews’ death; he was being held without bail at the High Desert Detention Center and was due to appear in court shortly after the incident. Authorities have not released specific details about the dispute or any prior history between the two.

The Chino Police Department is continuing its investigation and asking anyone with information to contact them. Does anyone have information about this family or the events at Riverside Drive on May 13?
