On April 5, 2024, at about 10:54 PM, officers responded to reports of multiple gunshots in the 15300 block of Pacific Avenue. A female gunshot victim, identified as 45-year-old Elizabeth Williams of Clearlake, was being taken to Adventist Health Clear Lake Hospital by an involved party and died despite life-saving efforts. Investigators say Williams was driving near Pacific Avenue and Konocti View Road when another vehicle approached and an occupant fired into her car, striking her once before fleeing.

Detectives identified 21-year-old Nathaniel Ladre Hueners of Lakeport as a suspect. On April 8, Lakeport officers found Hueners during a noise complaint investigation at a hotel and recovered a firearm believed to be connected to the case; he was arrested and booked on charges including murder, assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and violation of post-release community supervision. Hueners later pleaded not guilty in court. Reports note Williams was the mother of one of Hueners’ friends. Anyone with information is asked to contact law enforcement.
