Four members of the Bonds family were killed at their Reedley, California home in early January 2024. On January 6 officers responding to a reported burglary found signs of a violent crime at the South Church Avenue residence and an emptied, forcibly opened gun safe. Guadalupe Kiki Chavez Bonds, 44, and her grandfather-in-law, 81-year-old Billy Bonds, were found dead in the backyard; 61-year-old Darrell Bonds was later discovered buried in a shallow grave on the property. Matthew Bonds, Darrell’s son and Guadalupe’s husband, was initially reported missing and was found deceased in a detached garage at a neighboring property on January 9, 2024.

Autopsies determined all four died of gunshot wounds. A 17-year-old neighbor has been arrested on four counts of homicide; his identity is withheld because of his age. The suspect’s mother, 34-year-old Brynn Curtis, and her boyfriend, 21-year-old Rafael Gonzalez, were arrested on accessory after-the-fact charges and later released on bail. Authorities say the emptied gun safe raises the possibility of theft and are investigating whether others were involved.

If anyone has information that could help investigators, please come forward.
