Hey everyone. I’ve been reading about the tragic incident involving Joseph Saldana, and my thoughts are with his family and friends during what must be an incredibly challenging time for them. While many have focused on the heartbreaking loss of such a bright young person, I find myself wondering about Joseph’s potential and who he might have become. It seems that he was just about to embark on the next exciting chapter of his life, having graduated high school with honors and ready to dive into college and his first job. It really sounds like he had such a promising future ahead of him. It breaks my heart to think of all the dreams and ambitions that were cut short. How do we, as a society, prevent such senseless violence from taking away more young lives? It’s clear that communities like San Pedro are really pulling together, but what more can be done to ensure young people like Joseph have a safer environment to grow up in?
