On August 23, 2023, Glen Robert Sprowl Jr., 53, was one of the people fatally shot during a mass shooting at Cook’s Corner, a biker bar in Trabuco Canyon, California. The attacker, identified as 59-year-old John Snowling, began by shooting his estranged wife and then fired on other patrons. Witnesses say Sprowl confronted the shooter, followed him outside after the shooter went to his vehicle for more weapons, and warned others to stay inside and secure the bar. He was heard saying he would take care of the situation before being shot and killed during the confrontation.
Sprowl lived in Stanton, California, and was a father of three, with two younger children living in Arizona and a 19-year-old. He had plans to move to Arizona and start a motorcycle parts business. Friends and family described him as a skilled contraptionist who worked at an environmental recycling company, and remembered him as a big, tough biker with a big heart who would protect others. The shooter was killed by Orange County Sheriff’s deputies after an exchange of gunfire. Four people, including the shooter, died and six others were injured in the attack.
Does anyone who knew Glen or his family have memories or information to share about him?
