Victor Salazar, 41, a resident of Rancho Cucamonga, California, was killed by gunfire on the evening of Friday, August 18, 2023. Deputies responding to multiple reports of shots fired arrived in the 10200 block of 25th Street, near Center Street and Hermosa Avenue, and found Salazar lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Detail classified the death as a murder. Initial investigation produced no suspect description or known motive, and the person responsible remained at large. Investigators developed new leads three years later and in September 2026 issued a renewed public appeal, releasing a photograph of Salazar and asking for anyone who saw him before the shooting or who has information to come forward. No arrests have been announced and the case remains unsolved.
