On January 16, 2023, at about 3:30 a.m., six members of one family were killed in a mass shooting in Goshen, California. Victims included 72-year-old Rosa Parraz, 52-year-old Eladio Parraz Jr., 50-year-old Jennifer Analla, 19-year-old Marcos Parraz, 16-year-old Alissa Parraz, and Alissa’s 10-month-old son Nycholas. Authorities described the killings as carried out in a cartel-style manner. Alissa attempted to flee the home with her infant, but both were shot and killed outside the residence.
In the weeks after the massacre, law enforcement launched Operation Nightmare and arrested 35-year-old Angel Uriarte and 25-year-old Noah Beard, both identified as gang members and charged with six counts of murder. Uriarte was wounded in a shootout with federal agents during his capture and was taken into custody. Investigators have tied the motive to gang affiliations and rivalries. A search warrant at the Parraz home one week earlier recovered drugs, ammunition, and weapons; a family member arrested then was later released on bail.
The community of Goshen remained in mourning as prosecutions proceeded. If anyone knew Rosa Parraz or has information relevant to the investigation, please come forward.
