On October 5, 2024, in Bruceville-Eddy, Texas, 38-year-old Michael Morris and his 18-year-old son, Braxton Johnson, were fatally shot after a confrontation tied to an ongoing feud between Morris and 32-year-old Romi Frentescu, a member of the Cossacks Motorcycle Club. The confrontation reportedly escalated after Morris made an obscene gesture toward Frentescu, who followed Morris to his residence and a physical altercation occurred. Frentescu later said he acted in self-defense and fired multiple shots; witnesses provided accounts that contradicted that claim.

A passing nurse attempted CPR on Morris but, according to reports, Frentescu — wearing his motorcycle club vest — demanded she stop and said he wanted Morris to die. Emergency responders pronounced Morris dead at the scene; Braxton Johnson was taken to a hospital and later died of his injuries. Frentescu was arrested and charged with two counts of capital murder and held at the McLennan County Jail with bond set at $1 million. Investigators also arrested 30-year-old Alyssa Marleen Sevilla, accused of driving the getaway vehicle and returning to the scene; she faced capital murder charges with bond set at $500,000.

Morris was remembered for his generous spirit and love of family gatherings, fast cars, and motorcycles; his son Braxton, a senior at Texas Virtual Academy, was described as loving and protective. A GoFundMe was created to support Braxton’s family. Does anyone have information about the feud or the events leading up to that night?
