Raul Gonzalez, 16, was fatally shot during a road rage incident in Haltom City, Texas, on September 15, 2024. He was a passenger in a Chrysler 300 driven by his older brother when that vehicle pulled out in front of a black 1999 Honda Accord with a distinctive gray hood and front-right quarter panel between 4:15 and 4:45 a.m. The Honda pulled alongside the Chrysler and occupants opened fire, striking Gonzalez. He was taken to a Fort Worth hospital and died of his injuries on September 25, 2024.

Haltom City police used surveillance footage and license plate recognition to identify the suspect vehicle. Investigators say the Honda’s occupants tried to alter the car’s appearance by bleaching and spray-painting it before abandoning it in the backyard of a vacant Fort Worth property. Evidence indicates the suspects discussed the offense and posted about it on social media. Authorities believe at least two other people were in the Honda and are seeking information to identify them.

Two men have been arrested and charged: 21-year-old Jasue Josue Moreno on November 8, 2024, with murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence; and 21-year-old Juan Perez on November 12, 2024, with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Anyone with information about those who were in the Honda or other details of the shooting is urged to come forward.
