Cornelius Ray Craft, 56, of Nacogdoches, Texas, was found unresponsive at his residence on the morning of August 21, 2024, and pronounced dead after emergency responders arrived. Although investigators initially considered natural causes because of his age, an autopsy and further examination revealed signs of trauma, and the death is being investigated as a homicide.
Police reported no signs of forced entry at the home, prompting investigators to consider that Craft may have known his attacker or that the incident occurred during a dispute with someone familiar to him. Officers interviewed several people close to Craft and questioned multiple persons of interest, but no arrests or charges had been announced as of the latest reports. Neighbors told police they heard noises at Craft’s house the night before he was found, and detectives have been reviewing nearby security camera footage while urging anyone with information to come forward.
Does anyone have information about Cornelius Craft, his movements on August 20–21, 2024, or security footage from that neighborhood that could help investigators?
