On August 17, 2024, at about 2:50 a.m., officers in Jacksonville, Texas, responded to a reported shooting on the 400 block of Gillespie Avenue and found 29-year-old Clara Deane Wilson dead of an apparent gunshot wound. The investigation led to the arrest of two juveniles, identities withheld because of their age, who were charged with murder in connection with Wilson’s death.

Police said the motive appeared to be a robbery at Wilson’s residence and that the suspects fled immediately after the shooting. The community has been left shaken by her death. If anyone has information about the robbery or the people involved, please share what is known with Jacksonville Police.
