On July 20, 2024, at about 1:22 a.m., officers responded to a reported shooting at an apartment in the 2800 block of Hunt Street in Kerrville, Texas. Emergency personnel found 36-year-old Deanna LeAnn Arispe with gunshot wounds; she was taken to Peterson Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead. Three children and two adults were present in the apartment at the time; no one else was injured.

Investigators identified 29-year-old Gabriel Rene Aleman as the primary suspect. Doorbell camera footage near the scene reportedly captured Aleman firing into the apartment through the front door, striking Arispe. A warrant for his arrest on a murder charge was issued with bond set at $1 million. Aleman fled and was later located in San Antonio; he was apprehended without incident near the 9400 block of Wurzbach Road by San Antonio Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit in coordination with the Texas Rangers and Kerrville Police Department and booked into the Bexar County Jail on a murder charge.

Also arrested was 31-year-old Casandra Carin Moreno, accused of providing transportation to Aleman after the shooting and charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution of a known felon, a third-degree felony; she was booked into the Kerr County Jail. The investigation is ongoing. Does anyone have information about the Hunt Street apartment or events that night?
