On May 27, 2024, deputies from the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home just outside Eustace, Texas, after 61-year-old Patricia Ann Childs called to report she had shot her 53-year-old boyfriend, Troy Allen Alldredge. Deputies found Alldredge lying outside the residence with obvious gunshot wounds; Childs was inside with a handgun nearby. An autopsy was ordered and a search warrant was issued for the home. Childs was transported for medical evaluation, later released, arrested on murder charges, and taken to the Henderson County Jail pending arraignment.

Alldredge was born October 22, 1970, in Dallas and moved to Mabank in 1983. His obituary lists two sons, a daughter, parents Helen and Darrell Alldredge, siblings and several nieces and nephews; he was preceded in death by his wife Alicia Craft Alldredge. Records show prior arrests for domestic-related assaults and a DWI. Anyone with information about the shooting or the people involved is asked to come forward.
