On January 20, 2024, 33-year-old Rontarious Punché DeQuan Hamilton was shot and killed outside his home in the 1600 block of Running River Road in Garland, Texas. The incident began about 7:30 p.m. when an argument between neighbors reportedly escalated; the dispute is said to have started over a dog. Witness accounts and police reports say 18-year-old Isaiah Kellough, who was not initially part of the argument, became involved and allegedly shot Hamilton.
Hamilton, born August 29, 1990, in Hope, Arkansas, was a husband and father who worked as a forklift operator and enjoyed sports. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead. Kellough was arrested at the scene, charged with murder and booked into the Garland Detention Center with no bond set at the time. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to determine why Kellough intervened and used a firearm.
If anyone witnessed the shooting or has information about the events that led up to the confrontation, please come forward to assist the investigation.
