Curtis Crawford, 26, was found dead of apparent gunshot wounds at the Pointe North Apartments, 3710 Magnolia Street in Beaumont, Texas, after officers responded about 3 a.m. on June 6, 2023. Investigators estimate the shooting occurred between midnight and 1 a.m. that morning. Surveillance shows Crawford arriving at the complex with 28-year-old Janesya Kimorie Limbrick, and two people who appeared to be waiting ambushed him as they exited the vehicle.
Examination of Limbrick’s cellphone reportedly revealed detailed communications with 39-year-old Jamal McCain that indicated a coordinated plan to rob Crawford. Limbrick was taken into custody on the evening of June 6, 2023; McCain was arrested in San Antonio on June 20, 2023. Both were charged with murder, with bonds set at $1 million each. A third suspect, 43-year-old JW Marshall of Beaumont, was arrested on December 18, 2024, as the investigation continued.
