On May 27, 2023, 43-year-old Hector Torres, an Uber driver in Houston, Texas, was shot multiple times during a robbery while providing a ride. Officers responding to a call in the 2900 block of Trail Lake Drive found Torres with gunshot wounds; he told them he had been robbed and was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was pronounced dead two days later. Investigators located Torres’ vehicle abandoned on Knotty Oaks Trail.

Uber records showed the ride request came from an account belonging to someone who was incarcerated at the time, prompting investigators to conclude another person used that account to order the trip. Analysis of Uber and cell phone data traced the requesting phone to a residence linked to 18-year-old Charles Anthony Hudson. Hudson had been arrested in January 2023 and was found in possession of the iPhone 12 used to request the ride. On July 5, 2023, Hudson was arrested and charged with capital murder; bond was set at $750,000.

Does anyone have information about Torres’ last known route, the abandoned vehicle on Knotty Oaks Trail, or the residence tied to the phone used to request the ride?
