Leiira Rene Teasley, 39, of Temple, Texas, was reported missing earlier in the week and was found deceased at a local residence on March 26, 2023. Authorities say her body showed signs of foul play and opened a homicide investigation. The exact cause of death was not immediately disclosed in initial reports.

Police arrested 41-year-old Terrence O'Neal, a man Teasley was known to have had a relationship with; he was taken into custody on charges related to her death. Investigators reported canvassing the area for witnesses and reviewing forensic and ballistic evidence, and noted prior instances of violence in the relationship although no recent formal complaints were recorded. Teasley’s family held memorial services and publicly called for justice.
