On March 23, 2023, at about 10 p.m., two people were shot dead inside a vehicle at an apartment complex in the 1300 block of Dallas Drive in Denton, Texas. The victims were identified as 43-year-old Ronald Calvert Jr. and 29-year-old Breanna Dunn. Witnesses reported seeing two suspects flee the scene, information that investigators used in the follow-up probe.

Denton Police Major Crimes detectives developed leads tying 29-year-old Silvester Williams to Calvert, and Williams was arrested in Lewisville on April 3, 2023. A second suspect, 29-year-old Benjamin Teal, was arrested in Wichita Falls on April 7, 2023; both were charged with capital murder. On October 11, 2024, Teal was convicted of capital murder and received life without parole. Williams’ trial is scheduled for the coming year.
