Seventeen-year-old Krysavion Salas of Fresno, Texas, was shot and killed on January 12, 2023. Salas, a high school senior, was found with gunshot wounds after a late-evening confrontation in a neighborhood southwest of Houston and was pronounced dead shortly after emergency crews arrived.

Police arrested a 17-year-old male acquaintance of Salas and charged him with murder; authorities have not publicly detailed a motive.

Friends and family held a memorial and described Salas as a bright student. Anyone with information about the shooting or the events that led to it is asked to come forward.
