Abraham Suarez Santiago, 35, was shot and killed just after midnight on December 17, 2024, on Windsor View Lane in Villa Rica, Georgia. Deputies responding to reports of a dispute found a group of people near the roadway and Santiago’s body; he was a friend of the woman who lived in the house and had gone there to help after an earlier domestic altercation between the woman and her husband.

Investigators say an argument between Santiago and the husband, Rick Joseph Reed, escalated and ended in gunfire. Santiago was shot near the road and died at the scene. Reed was taken into custody and charged with murder and aggravated assault and was booked into the Paulding County Jail without bond. The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to assist.

Santiago, known to friends as Ab, was a National Guard sergeant who had served since 2008 and was remembered as a devoted father. Does anyone have information about the events that night or knew Abraham and can help fill in what happened?
