Fedor Lee Warren Lomax, 29, was shot inside an apartment at 1116 South Elm Street in Pittsburg, Kansas, shortly before 11 p.m. on November 27, 2024. Responding officers found Lomax with a gunshot wound and he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The shooter had fled before police arrived.
Detectives quickly identified a person of interest as 25-year-old Kevin J. Hukill. Officers located Hukill at a residence in the 300 block of East Park Street; after initial attempts to make contact, a search warrant was obtained and Hukill was found hiding in the attic. A negotiator spoke with him, and Hukill surrendered at 5:33 a.m. He was booked into the Crawford County Jail and faces suspicion of second-degree murder, felony interference with law enforcement, and being a felon in possession of a firearm, and was wanted on a separate felony warrant for failing to appear on a prior drug charge.
Are there witnesses or neighbors who saw or heard anything on the night of November 27 that could help the investigation?
