Joseph Scot Greenhill, 49, was found dead from gunshot wounds inside a residence on Damron Mayo Road in Grayson after an emergency call at 9:04 p.m. on December 18, 2024. Officers from the Kentucky State Police and Grayson City Police Department responded, and the Carter County coroner pronounced him dead at the scene. Investigators reported Greenhill had entered the home before being fatally shot.
Greenhill, known to friends and family as Scotty or Skeeter, was a welder who enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycle riding and turning scrap metal into art. He was a father and grandfather, survived by his parents, a son, a daughter, a grandson and three siblings.
The Kentucky State Police described the investigation as ongoing and said the case would be presented to the Carter County grand jury; as of late December, no charges had been filed. Did anyone in the area know Joseph Greenhill or see anything relevant that night?
