A dispute at a convenience store in Kentwood, Louisiana, on Christmas Day turned deadly when 28-year-old Deshawn D. Roberts of Osyka, Mississippi, was shot and later died of his wounds. The confrontation began inside the 4-Way Quick Stop on Avenue E and continued outside, where both men reportedly drew firearms. Investigators say Demarcus Blount fired at Roberts; Roberts was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.
Blount fled the scene after the shooting but was later stopped by police during a traffic stop and arrested in connection with Roberts’ death. Both men were reportedly visiting Kentwood from Mississippi at the time.
If anyone saw the incident outside the 4-Way Quick Stop or knew either man while they were visiting Kentwood, can you share what you know?
