Edward James Green was 18 when he was killed in Prescott, Arizona, on April 28, 2005. Crisp, 22 at the time, shot Green with a .22-caliber rifle.

Family and friends briefly reported Green missing before investigators developed suspicions that led to Crisp being questioned. Crisp confessed during that interrogation, gave a detailed account of the shooting and the efforts to conceal the body, and later pleaded guilty. He was sentenced to life in prison.
