Stephen Manning, known as Steve, was 57 when he was last heard from on May 20, 2021. He lived in the Los Chavez area on Jose I. Garcia Road and kept frequent contact with his daughters despite living in a different state. That steady communication abruptly stopped after the May contact; birthday and Father’s Day messages went unanswered and the family reported him missing in the summer of 2021.

By August 2021 he was entered as a missing and endangered person after no financial activity or other contact. A welfare check at his last known residence found the occupants had not seen him in some time. Steve’s car was reportedly driven by an unknown person and later returned to the residence, but he remains missing. The Valencia County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation, a billboard was funded on Interstate 25 south of Belen to solicit tips, and a tipline has been established.
